After my son’s soccer game, we were walking out to the parking lot. His team had been facing one of the rich private Catholic schools in NoVa. I saw this car and noticed the Ferrari badge on the front of it. I was not at all familiar with this body style from Ferrari so I got closer and went to check it out. In script on the back it said “Panamera”.
Yep, it was a Porsche Panamera sporting a damn Ferrari badge in front.

That is some sad shit right there.
What’s more sad? The guy with a Porsche who sticks a Ferrari badge on the hood, or the guy who puts a “Type R” badge on his 1996 Corolla?

I made sure to check cause I knew they were similar. Nope. It was for sure a Ferrari badge.

did it have SF on it too? maybe it was the Stuttgart shield? the badge is recessed on the Panamera so I dunno. I feel like giving a stranger the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah, it was the SF badge.

So did I jump to conclusion on this or was I right in assuming someone decided owning a 80K + vehicle was not enough status.

In Germany, and probably much of Europe, almost every Red Fiat was guaranteed to have Ferrari badges all over it. I once saw a Red Fiat Cinquecento with, of course, the obligatory Ferrari badges... bat also a bumper sticker that read, "When I grow up I want to be a Ferrari."

Oh, yes, that is very sad indeed. Or excellent trolling.
